LightWave 3D is a popular 3D modeling and animation package from Newtek, that originated with the company's Video Toaster on the Commodore Amiga platform. It has long been used in a number of film and television projects (e.g., Firefly, Serenity, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5) and also in use at some game studios (e.g., Croteam/Serious Sam, Digital Extremes/Unreal 2). These and many more are included in this collection. While we can’t list everything here, these are some highlights. Later versions of LightWave3D may cause some pretty serious breakage of certain textures, and – volumetric engine or weapons fire effects rigs, so be warned! This doesn’t mean that they cannot be reproduced using later versions of LightWave3D. I have not heard anything about an Amiga Lightwave3D 5.1 version, could that be a PC version you. That is perhaps why you can't save or load anything. The Amiga versions need a Video Toaster card installed, or a Dongle key installed (in the parallel port I think) for Lightwave3D to work. The 3D modeling component supports both polygon modeling and subdivision surfaces. It includes a fast rendering engine that supports such advanced features as realistic reflection, radiosity, caustics, and 999 render nodes. This is a great collection for anyone with a copy of LightWave3D going back to version 5.6 (if not earlier but we haven’t tested this) to LightWave3D 2015.3. The Amiga version of Lightwave3D ended at 5.0, not 3.5. LightWave is a software package used for rendering 3D images, both animated and static. In this free to download collection, there are dozens of objects and scene set ups that will allow you to reproduce many wonderful visuals from the mid-1990s series. In an attempt to preserve some of the legacy of LightWave3D’s history in the 3D and VFX world and its contributions to some of the most icon sci-fi television shows of the last 30 years Libert圓d.com is making an effort archive and make available to the LightWave3D community many fan built assets from the series Babylon 5 (B5).
